Compact domes are fixed focus cameras, so should be in focus when they leave the factory, and are not adjustable in the field. However, there are a number of things that could make them go out of focus, including;
- Dirt on the lens
- Dirt/smudges on the dome.
One possibility that we have recently become aware of is that a small number have left the factory with a plastic lens cover mistakenly left in place. This can be determined by inspection of the camera with the dome removed - if in doubt please raise a case with Ava Support and supply a picture of the camera with the dome removed. The plastic cover can be removed with care not to touch the lens itself.
